The Historic Bing Theater is the perfect place to see a Stage To Screen production! Stage To Screen: The King and I is a film of the actual play including a live audience. This is a wonderful and affordable way to experience the arts and theater in Spokane, WA!

One of the best-loved Rogers and Hammerstein musicals of the Golden Age, The King and I tells the magical real-life story of Anna, the widowed schoolteacher who in 1862 comes halfway around the world from England to teach the court of the King of Siam, and ends up schooling the King himself.

Starring Kelli O'Hara, who has been called the "undisputed queen of the Broadway musical" in the Sunday Times, and Ken Watanabe, this production is a reprise of the 2015 Lincoln Center revival that won four Tony awards, including Best Revival of a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical, Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and Best Costume Design.

Don't miss the unforgettable opportunity to enjoy the gloriously romantic music of Rogers and Hammerstein in a revelatory staging of the 1951 classic.  Thrill to "Shall we Dance", "Getting to Know You", "Hello, Young Lovers ", the poignant "I Have Dreamed" and the optimistic "Whistle a Happy Tune" as Anna and her King dance into your hearts.

Directed by Bartlett Sher, who helmed smash revivals of "South Pacific" and "Fiddler on the Roof", this version of the production was filmed live at the London Palladium during its recently ended London run, and has reunited all the leading cast members from the original Lincoln Center production.
