The Spokane String Quartet welcomes John Marshall and Julia Salerno from the Eastern Washington University faculty for an afternoon of string sextets. Marshall, a former member of the SSQ, is principal cello for the Spokane Symphony. Salerno has been a featured soloist with several orchestras and festivals. The program includes works by Brahms and Schoenberg with other pieces to be announced.
The Spokane String Quartet features two works inspired by love affairs at its next concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Bing Crosby Theater. Cellist John Marshall and violist Julia Salerno join the SSQ for Verklarte Nacht, Op. 4, by Arnold Schoenberg and String Sextet No. 2 in G Major, Op. 36, by Johannes Brahms.
