‘Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are unmissable.’ - Daily Telegraph
The Stage to Screen series brings a hilarious and irreverent production to the Bing’s big screen in April. Following their hit run on Broadway, close friends Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart share the stage once more in Harold Pinter’s No Man's Land, broadcast live from Wyndham’s Theatre, London.
The perfect premise for showcasing the wit and humor of two theatrical veterans casts the two characters with plenty of imbibing and storytelling on a summer’s evening. Two ageing writers, Hirst and Spooner, meet in a Hampstead pub and continue their drinking into the night at Hirst's stately house nearby. As the pair become increasingly inebriated, and their stories increasingly unbelievable, the lively conversation soon turns into a revealing power game, further complicated by the return home of two sinister younger men.
Clever banter, verbal sparring, and comedic brilliance ensue as McKellen and Stewart’s delightful exchange underscores the value of holding onto life-long friendship, cherishing the powerful memories that such companionship yields.
The filmed performance of the highly-praised production will be screened in HD at the Bing as part of its Stage to Screen series on April 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Doors open at 1:00 PM. Tickets to the show are available online at friendsofthebing.org. Tickets for adults online are $13 and $15 at the door. Tickets for students online are $7 and $9 at the door.
