Brent Edstrom received a bachelor of music degree in classical piano performance from Washington State University and a master of music degree in jazz studies and contemporary media from the Eastman School of Music. Edstrom's active performance career has placed him on stage with many well-known performers, including Clark Terry, Ron Carter, Ernie Watts, Lee Konitz, John Clayton, Jon Faddis, Bob Berg, Carmen Bradford, Dee Daniels, Freda Payne, Peter Erskine, and many others.

An active composer, Edstrom's chamber compositions have been featured at festivals including the International Trumpet Guild, Southeast Horn Workshop, International Tuba Euphonium Conference, and Boise Horn Workshop. His Concerto for Jazz Piano and Orchestra has been performed by Orchestra Seattle, the Coeur d'Alene symphony, and the Whitworth University Orchestra.

Edstrom has published extensively including over 100 note-for-note transcriptions of the music of Art Tatum, Bill Evans, Kenny Barron, Oscar Peterson and others. He completed several new publications, including: Recording On a Budget, distributed internationally by Oxford University Press, Musicianship In the Digital Age, distributed by Thomson (Cengage), and Bill Evans Signature Licks, Hard Bop For Piano, and Latin Jazz Piano, distributed by Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation. He has contributed to 18 jazz piano books in the Hal Leonard Jazz Piano Series as well as numerous jazz, classical, and popular folios. Edstrom has been involved in numerous projects for film and television including arranging and synthesis on the award winning public television movie, Carolina Preserves.

Don Goodwin leads an active life in music as a teacher, composer/arranger and performer. As a music educator, Mr. Goodwin has enjoyed teaching at Eastern Washington University for the past nine years, where he is currently the director of bands. Don Goodwin’s award winning arrangements and compositions have been performed and recorded by high schools, colleges, and professional organizations around the country, and his music has been published with Gary Gilroy Music Publications, Walrus Music Publishing, and Ejazzlines.

His performance career as a professional pianist and musical director includes extended engagements with The Bob Curnow Orchestra, The Tom Molter Big Band, and while in Seattle Goodwin was a member of the popular funk/rock/jazz groups BeeCraft, Flowmotion, and LaPush, with whom he toured around the country.  He has recorded dozens of albums with those and other professional groups, including Curnow’s most recent release which features arrangements of the music of Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays. 

In May of 2015, Don Goodwin was selected as Music Director for the Spokane Jazz Orchestra. Mr. Goodwin holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master in Composition from Eastern Washington University, and recently completed his Doctorate of Musical Arts in band conducting from the University of Kentucky.
